Never Stop Learning

Along the way I’ve had to learn some of the unexpected basics of life. Basics like how to do the laundry, work in a kitchen, talk to people and how to take care of myself. I know right, such basic lessons to be learning after the age of 25. See, I used to work in IT. I worked at my first job for nearly 6 years.. from the age of 19 til 25, and I always had someone around me who knew how to and would take care of these basics, whether it was a room-mate, a domestic worker or my mom.
At some point during my working career life got dangerously boring and I knew a change was desperately needed.

During my first year travelling, I threw myself into the school of life and rapidly learnt the basic essentials for survival. I learnt to trust myself and meet the right people. The second year I learnt a new language and how to really sell myself.. and now into the 3rd year I feel brave and eager for the next challenge, hungry for personal development! I realised that without challenges, goals or variation in life.. things can and will become stale. Well, at least for me it did, and this is my truth.

Challenge yourself!

I found Ken Robinson’s talks because I am registered with TED, I find TED talks thoroughly enjoyable and Sir Ken not only had me in stitches, but also moved. His words and conviction instantly made him a role model to me,  and in some way he confirmed something within me and got me started on this path of expressing myself, blogging and sharing my thoughts. I urge you to give him a listen.

In the beginning..

In the beginning, I had no idea which path that I wanted to take.. and even now, faced with more options and potential paths than I ever imagined I would be fortunate enough to choose from, I am.. lost. But not the negative kind of lost, the good lost, the lost that inspires and motivates.
Being lost, both mentally and physically somewhere on the other side of the planet, I could imagine my younger self shaking nervously at the idea. Now, however, close on 3 years of unplanned and totally unbelievable travels through our planets cities and jungles later, I no longer quiver from the thought of being lost, neither mentally nor physically. In fact, quite the opposite.. and this is where I’ve ended up.

An island in the middle of the Gulf of Thailand, upon some rocks I pondered the direction I might navigate my meat-suit. The general direction is in the pursuit of education, the acquisition and distribution, with the hope that one day I too may influence people in the same positive way in which I have been influenced by my now expanding list of role models.

I guess I’ll see where this all leads as I go..
